Following the economic crisis of 2008, a big amount of researches has appeared about how this crisis is affecting to the youth mobility in Southern Europe. Among these studies are those made by the geographers of the research group "Societies and Atlantic Spaces" of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain). These studies, with those of other social scientists, have contributed to the advance of knowledge about a new and intense mobility process. In particular, we are discussing about its structural or conjunctural nature, among diverse aspect of interest.

This poster try to offer a theoretical framework for analyzing the mobility of Spanish young adults, according to the researches developed since the beginning of the crisis. Besides, this contribution pretends to expose a state of the issue that summarizes the most relevant aspects of this mobility process. The quantitative and qualitative sources used in the different investigations constitute the counterpoint on which is based this review.

In this proposal, we also approach to the this new human mobility from a regional perspective, analyzing the peculiarities of the phenomenon in the Spanish island areas. The singularities of these spaces force us to adopt a geographical point of view that shows the variety of situations of this process at different scales of work.
