Flood threat in the mind of inhabitants of Czech Silesia in 2016
Czech Silesia is small region at the Czech-Polish border, that is threatened with flooding of several small rivers: Opava, Moravice, Ostravice etc. flowing to main river Odra (Oder). Twenty years ago, this region was seriously affected by Great Flood of 1997 (known as Oder Flood in Czechia, Poland and Germany). An experience of this natural disaster seems to be very far from today. Local authorities are organizing some technical solutions for flood protecting in the meantime and inhabitants can observe them. The topic of this presentation is mapping of a recent flood threat and flood-protecting activities among population of this region by using of mental maps.
